Ginger's Story
How a fall off of a balance beam lead me to holistic healing.
"Muscle Testing Saved My Life"
I am often asked why I went from traditional medical nursing to holistic nursing. The answer is both personal and professional.
In the spring of my freshman year of college I sustained a traumatic brain injury during a gymnastic workout. I didn't realize the extent of my injury because I woke up in the ambulance with little understanding of what happened. By my junior year, I could no longer focus with my eyes, headaches were daily and debilitating, my arms would go numb and I knew something was seriously wrong. I left college and began meeting with doctors who told me it was "all in my head." Finally a top neurosurgeon in Boston admitted me to the hospital for barbaric medical tests! His conclusion:
"There is no cure. You will have pain for life and be on medications forever."
And that was the case through nursing school and for more years that I care to count. Daily pain exhausted me and brought me to my knees on many occasions.
When I was 34 years old, my aunt , Sonja, called and asked me to go to California with her to study kinesiology. I met with Lillian Poston, a kinesiology facilitator, to experience the work and my life changed forever on that day.
Bells and whistles went off. I knew that this modality would not only change my life, but would also change the lives of others. It made sense to access Body Wisdom for guidance. It took several years of kinesiology sessions for my body to heal, the head pain to decrease and eventually disappear and my life changed for the better. I don't know where I would be today had I not hopped on that plane to California.
It has been 33+ years since I studied at Three in One Concepts in California and began my life changing quest. I continue to love studying the brain and body and modalities that allow me to support people as they change, grow and reach their full potential .
Update: dear Lillian passed at 94 years of age and worked almost up until her passing. She lived to help others and did it with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. What an amazing mentor she was to me and so many others.
